No more loans to be granted
Dear fellow students,  
The re-registration deadline ends on 15 March 2025!
As AStA, we grant loans every semester for students in financial need. This year, too, there was a high demand for loans, which corresponds to the widespread poverty among us students. BAföG, which only around 11% of students receive, is not enough to live on. When students fought for the introduction of BAföG in 1972, 40% of students were still receiving BAföG.  We are aware of the precarious situation of many students and emphasise that poverty is not an individual but a structural failure. It is the result of increasing social inequality in Germany and worldwide. As students, we are therefore fighting together for a good life and BAföG for all, for redistribution and a massive expansion of the welfare state. Unfortunately, we can only grant a limited number of loans per semester. Due to the high demand, we are unable to grant any further loans this semester, so we ask for your understanding.
We expressly refer you to other counselling centres of the Studierendenwerk.
